Surrender: the best story of 2021

I opened Medium, created a new publication, and stared blankly at the screen with no idea on what to write about.

— Why write About something, I asked myself?

— I can write Something, but that still feels forced to me.

— Just write.

And since the moment I decided to just write, my fingers appear to move easily where they want to go, pressing the keys, and forming the words that wish to appear. It feels as if it is not me who is writing.

— But who is writing then?

The answer is the story writes itself.

I had to remind myself to come back here, and just write.

It’s so funny how the moment you forget about looking for something you lost, for example your keys, you find them. The moment you are not looking for love, you find yourself in a relationship.

It appears as if the more we surrender, the more things you once wanted come to you smoothly and easily. Whenever you relinquish the desire of having something, and you simply accept everything as it is right now, is the moment you will get what you “want.”

Desires kills.

The moment I surrendered myself to the expectation of writing an article, story, or just sharing some thoughts, is the moment I wrote this little story that I hope it ignites within you the curiosity of letting go and surrendering to this moment.

I will not be surprised if this little story, after my moment of surrender, becomes the most read article in 2021.
